The challenge for any dock bumper is less the “truck impact”, than it is the abrasion caused during loading/unloading of the trailer. As the trailer rises and falls with the weight of the forklift and cargo, the truck/bumper contact point scuffs, scrapes and degrades. Over time, any bumper will wear away, literally shredded like cheese, to the point it no longer offers the protection your dock needs.

Our new SLIDE-effect® dock bumper incorporates a slide mechanism within the bumper assembly. The ‘spring & slide’ action allows the bumper to move up and down with the trailer to limit abrasion and extend the life of your dock equipment while reducing service calls.
And, should the tough, impact-absorbing, high-density rubber pad in the SLIDE-effect® bumper ever need to be replaced, it can be swapped out, inexpensively, in under a minute and without tools.

Molded rubber dock bumpers offer a compact and economical solution for light to medium traffic docks. For high-volume docks or facilities with frequent trailer movement, laminated dock bumpers provide added thickness and shock absorption. If you’re dealing with aggressive docking or vertical trailer movement, a steel-faced bumper offers extra resistance to wear and tear over time.
